Epitome Planned Systems and Stretch Goals
What Kickstarter and the cinematic sold for later — keep it off your current M1 checklist.
Epitome’s Kickstarter did two jobs at once. It sold a playable pre-alpha and it sold a much larger later MMO. Players mix those jobs constantly. This page is the later-MMO drawer: stretch language, cinematic promises, and “what’s next” lists that should not be on your tonight checklist while Steam still says Coming soon.
The campaign ran 29 January–28 February 2026 and funded. Coverage of the close put the raise around €559k from about 20k backers against a goal near €86k that cleared in 44 hours. Massively Overpowered’s wrap-up said the money locked stretch talk that included flying mounts, mining and fishing, additional maps, a pet system, and polymorphing, among other items. An early dollar gate around $110k was described as unlocking a polymorph system and an energy discharge idea: monsters in an area can spike in power and also drop better loot.
None of that is a loot table this wiki will print as live. Stretch lists are funded-or-hoped systems. The current tester skeleton is still pre-alpha status: M1, two cities, four biomes, a cap around 20.
Sandbox systems the cinematic is selling
The official Pre-Alpha Cinematic is the mood board for this page. Watch it as a direction of travel, then come back to the list so a gold skybox does not become patch 1.0 in your head.
Kickstarter and GameSpace recaps of the studio pitch grouped later work like this:
- AI companions that join quests, help with tedious tasks, keep working while you are away, and grow with you. Steam’s AI disclosure already says companions are a soon layer, not a guarantee in every current session. Keep AI NPCs for the conversation system that is already the headline.
- AI assassin guilds and bounty hunters that can be bribed. Flavor. Not a justice system you can file a ticket against.
- Guild system, faction warfare, territory control, and player housing. The cinematic and campaign both lean sandbox. PvP and dueling is the small version you can already read about in March patches. Housing is not a landlord sim in M1.
- Mount taming, aquatic and aerial updates, flying mounts. Travel fantasy. The world and maps page is where M2 and the Terra / Nether / Aether globe pitch live.
- Pet system, polymorph, crafting, mining and fishing, character customization. Classic MMO backlog. Do not reroll a Warrior because a stretch poster showed a dragon mount.
- More epic dungeons, more bosses, world bosses. Pair with dungeons and portals so Blight and random portals stay in the “now-ish” column and world bosses stay in the later column.
- Eight additional maps toward nine worlds and a soft cap toward 99. Vision. Not your current XP bar.
Studio comments after Kickstarter also mentioned a web item shop using Archon Seals in some coverage. Steam already discloses in-game purchases and chance-based purchases on a Coming soon page that also carries a no pay-to-win claim. This page will describe a shop when a public shop exists. It will not invent Seal prices.
What is already in the slice, so you stop mixing drawers
Campaign “already in the build” lists included friends, party, trade, quests, chat, XP, Morality Metrics, teleport, skills, stats, monoliths, PvP, weapons, upgrade/enhance, drops, a basic dungeon and boss loop, and elite monsters. March patches added duels, random dungeon portals, monolith spawns, and a new boss. Official teasers added Blight and M2. June upcoming-content talk added mail, auction house, enhance percentages, resurrection protection, and an Orc zone as work toward open alpha.
If a system is in that paragraph, it belongs on a how-to or status page, not on this poster. If a system is only in the cinematic bullet list, it belongs here.
Classes do not move because a stretch funded. Steam still lists three starters and two Morality Metrics unlocks. Pre-alpha Necromancer-as-create remains a test-build note on the Necromancer page.
How to use this page without becoming a hype feed
Use it when a trailer shows housing, flying, or a globe and you need a sentence that says not in the current slice. Use Road to Open Alpha when you need phase names. Use the first look when you need a wishlist verdict. Use official links when a Discord image disagrees with Steam.
Online play stays MMO-shaped through the whole poster: other people, parties, PvP, later guild wars. It is not local co-op. Engine 5.4 versus 5.7 still does not unlock pets.
The cinematic is allowed to be beautiful. Your checklist is not. Wishlist Steam. Play the backer slice if you have it. Keep flying mounts, housing, and the nine-map globe in this drawer until a dated public note moves them. Epitome is still Coming soon. Funded hope is not a shipped sandbox.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers for wishlist, classes, and pre-alpha questions.
Did stretch goals fund?
The Kickstarter funded and coverage described a finish well past the listed goal, with stretch talk including mounts, pets, maps, polymorph, mining, and fishing. Exact ledgers vary. The access fact is a backer pre-alpha, not those systems in your bag tonight.
Are flying mounts in the current pre-alpha?
Treat them as later-content talk unless a dated official note says they landed. The current slice testers describe is still M1-sized.
What is energy discharge?
Coverage of an early stretch gate described monsters that can randomly grow stronger in an area and drop better loot. It is not a published live-world event schedule.
Will AI companions be in open alpha?
Steam still describes companions as a future layer. Open-alpha shopping lists in June 2026 recaps focused on mail, auction house, zones, and combat feel. Do not assume a companion in every session.
Where do I track whether a stretch item actually shipped?
Watch [Road to Open Alpha](/updates/open-alpha/) and [pre-alpha status](/updates/pre-alpha-status/). Prefer Steam, epitomegame.com, and official Discord over undated screenshots.
