Epitome Class Picker
Three questions, one reading order — not a damage simulator.
Use this picker when you know you want Epitome and you do not know which Steam class to read first. Epitome is still Coming soon. There is no public “main this in season one” answer. There is a store page with three basic classes — Warrior, Ninja, Shaman — and two advanced classes — Necromancer, Elementalist — gated by Morality Metrics. The form below maps how you like to fight onto that list and then sends you to a class page.
It will not account for unfinished combat, missing animations, or a pre-alpha create screen that sometimes adds Necromancer as a fourth character for backers. Those are test-build details. The picker follows Steam’s launch-shaped list, then reminds you to open the morality guide if you asked for advanced unlocks.
Read the questions before you click. If you mash the first radio in every group, you will get Warrior every time, which is a valid melee answer and a useless experiment.
How the three questions work
How do you want to fight? Face-to-face steel maps to Warrior. Ambush, poison, or a bow maps to Ninja. Bells, curses, or the elements map toward Shaman, Necromancer, or Elementalist depending on the next two answers. This matches the public weapon story: Warriors with one-hand and two-hand weapons, Ninjas with one-hands, daggers, and bows, Shamans with one-hands plus bells and fans, Necromancers with one-hands and magical items, Elementalists with one-hand and two-hand weapons.
What should a party remember you for? Raw damage keeps you on a pressure kit. Keeping allies alive pushes Shaman’s Path of Light or Elementalist’s Arcane Path of Balance. Things that fight for you push Necromancer’s Path of Blood — only if you also said you will chase advanced unlocks. A support answer plus “starter only” will not invent a day-one necromancer.
Are you planning around advanced unlocks? “I want a class I can create on day one” stays on Warrior, Ninja, or Shaman. “I will chase Morality Metrics” allows Necromancer or Elementalist when your combat and role answers point at death magic or elements. Steam still does not put those two on the first create list. Some Kickstarter recaps counted four creatable characters because a given pre-alpha build allowed it. Do not let a recap overwrite the store page.
After you submit, read the class page the result names, then the matching dual path on starter path rankings or advanced path rankings. Letters there are speculative. This picker does not print S or F.
Run the picker
Answer all three groups, then submit. Reset clears the result without changing Steam.
How to read a result without over-fitting it
If you landed on Warrior, decide Body versus Soul after you read the kit: Body is Sword Aura, Charge, and Sword Vortex; Soul is Spiritual Body and Spiritual Strike. The picker will not choose the path for you. Body is the usual learning route in our speculative list; Soul is the “I expect to get hit” route.
If you landed on Ninja, Assassination is Shadow Trail and Ambush. Tang Path is Mirage and Poison Scorch. Open-world PvP chatter likes Assassination when stealth works. Tang wants enemies to stand in a cloud. Pre-alpha combat reports go both ways — fluid and weighty versus unfinished. Your result is a reading order, not proof that Ambush currently feels good.
If you landed on Shaman, Light is Blessing and Luminous Howl. Darkness is Curse and Summon Darkness. Light is the group-shaped starter. Darkness is the curse-shaped starter. Neither is a complete raid healer from another MMO. Epitome is an action MMO still in testing.
If you landed on Necromancer, open Path of Blood versus Path of Decay on the class page, then read how Morality Metrics unlock advanced classes. Blood is the summon fork. Decay is the lingering-damage fork. If your pre-alpha client already let you create a Necromancer, enjoy the test — and still treat Steam launch as a morality project unless the store page changes.
If you landed on Elementalist, Ancient Elements is Infernal Breath and Fury of the Winds. Balance is Holy Protection and the Hydrosoul Guardian. Elementalist is easy to forget in recaps that only listed four pre-alpha creates. Steam still documents it.
Faction is not in the form. Aria worships the Archons as a set; Zetia backs Zethar. Run the picker first, then read the faction guide. Kingdom is not a hidden seventh class.
What the picker is allowed to ignore
It ignores estimated GPU tiers. Use the PC check for that. It ignores whether you pledged between January 29 and February 28, 2026. Use the pre-alpha checklist for process. It ignores Unreal Engine 5.4 versus Kickstarter’s 5.7 language. It ignores disputed gear totals. It ignores the claimed 33,000-player shardless instance. Those are pitch numbers, not class math.
Online play is MMO and PvP-shaped. A result that looks perfect for a quiet field can be bait when other players share the node. If you only ever want a solo theme-park, say so in your own notes — the form still assumes you might group, because the game is advertised that way.
Free-to-play is the planned Steam model, with a no pay-to-win claim and Archon Seals described in coverage as cosmetic and utility currency. The picker will never recommend a wallet path. If a shop later sells power, that is a news item for the Updates Hub, not a radio button here.
When you have a name, park it next to how to play and the classes hub. Re-run the form after a patch only if the create list or morality rules change. Re-running it because you lost a pre-alpha duel is how people convince themselves Ninja is “broken” on an unfinished ruleset.
If the picker keeps sending you to Shaman, that is usually because you asked for magic and then refused an advanced horizon — which is the store page being consistent. Read the Shaman kit anyway. The Steam skill list is still the only public kit that does not depend on a backer’s screenshot from last Tuesday.
Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers for wishlist, classes, and pre-alpha questions.
Why did I get Warrior when I wanted a caster?
The first question maps steel to Warrior. Choose the magic option if you want Shaman or an advanced mage. The form cannot infer a caster from a melee click.
Can the picker unlock Necromancer for me?
No. Steam ties Necromancer and Elementalist to Morality Metrics. The result is a page to read. Follow the [morality guide](/guides/morality-metrics/) for the published unlock idea.
Does this use live combat data?
No. Combat is unfinished and the game is unreleased. The picker only maps playstyle answers to public class identities.
Should I reroll if my friends got a different result?
Only if your answers were wrong. Two players who want different jobs should get different classes. Compare kits on the [classes hub](/players/) instead of trading screenshots of this form.
Where do I go after I have a class name?
Open that class page, then the matching path list under [Class Path Tier List Hub](/tier-list/). Keep ranks labeled speculative.
