Epitome Necromancer

Advanced death magic: Path of Blood summons or Path of Decay.

Necromancer Class Guide

Necromancer is an advanced class in Epitome, not one of the three basic create options on Steam. The store page lists Warrior, Ninja, and Shaman first, then says Necromancer and Elementalist unlock later through Morality Metrics. Epitome is still Coming soon as a free-to-play Steam MMORPG by Epitome P.S.A. This page is the death-magic kit, plus one test-build warning.

Test-build create versus Steam design

Pre-alpha currently may offer Necromancer as a playable character at create for some testers. Treat that as a test-build convenience so backers can try death magic without finishing the morality loop. It is not a rewrite of Steam into four starters. When this wiki talks about day-one creates, the list stays Warrior, Ninja, Shaman. If a Discord screenshot shows a Necromancer on the create screen, that screenshot is a build flag, not the store page.

The unlock you should plan around is still Morality Metrics. Your choices with AI NPCs and other players are the advertised road into this class. Do not skip the starter you will actually play because a test shard let someone click Necromancer on minute one.

Weapons and magical items

Steam says masters of death magic wield one-handed weapons and magical items. That is closer to Shaman’s one-hand-plus-artifacts rule than to Warrior’s two-hand option. Plan a one-hand weapon and a magic-item slot, not a greatsword identity. The spectacle in the store copy is summons and decay energy, not a second Warrior.

Path of Blood

Path of Blood spends blood to activate abilities and leans on summons. Steam names Dead Reckoning and a Great Ghoul.

Dead Reckoning summons a Dark Knight to fight enemies. That is a named knight, not a generic skeleton pile. Great Ghoul is the magnet: Steam says it attracts groups of foes. Blood is the path if you want extra bodies on your side and a tool that decides where the pile stands.

Summon paths look powerful in art and feel like pet management in a live MMO. A Dark Knight that dies in a doorway is a wasted cooldown. A Ghoul that pulls two extra packs you cannot see is a wipe with extra footsteps. Blood is for players who like directing traffic, not only pressing a personal damage aura.

Path of Decay

Path of Decay manipulates decay energy on your own weapon and on a line through enemies. Steam names Decay Infusion and Rending Shadow.

Decay Infusion charges your sword and deals damage over time. You are still swinging a one-hand weapon. The path adds a lingering tax. Rending Shadow creates a lance that pierces enemies along its path. Decay is the personal-damage route: DoT steel plus a pierce, rather than a knight and a ghoul.

If Blood is “bring friends,” Decay is “poison the clock and punch a hole through the line.” You still need to stand in melee. This is not a turret class in the Steam text. It is death magic on a sword and a lance of shadow.

How Necromancer sits in the roster

Shaman Darkness already summons a dark dragon. Necromancer Blood summons a Dark Knight and a Great Ghoul. Keep those lists separate. Elementalist summons a Hydrosoul Guardian on the Balance path. If you only wanted “a pet,” read all three pages before you chase morality in a random direction.

Necromancer does not replace a starter. You still need a create you can use while Metrics are closed. Warrior, Ninja, and Shaman remain the Steam trio. Use the class picker if you have not picked that trio yet. Use the tier list hub only as unfinished ranking talk for advanced paths.

Faction is still Aria versus Zetia, not a secret Necromancer-only kingdom. Archon politics live on the Archons page. Death magic does not automatically mean you joined Zethar.

Until Steam actually ships, the useful Necromancer plan is narrow: know Blood versus Decay, know the test-build create is not the store design, and know which starter you will play while you wait. This page is for people who want knights, ghouls, DoT swords, and a piercing lance — after they have earned the class the way the Steam paragraph describes, not the way a pre-alpha menu might cheat for a weekend.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers for wishlist, classes, and pre-alpha questions.

Can I create a Necromancer on Steam at launch?

Steam lists Necromancer as an advanced class unlocked through Morality Metrics. Pre-alpha may currently let some testers create one as a test-build option. That is not the advertised three-starter design.

What is Dead Reckoning?

On Path of Blood, Dead Reckoning summons a Dark Knight to fight enemies. Great Ghoul is the other Blood summon, used to attract groups.

Path of Blood or Path of Decay?

Blood is summons: Dark Knight and Great Ghoul. Decay is weapon DoT via Decay Infusion and a piercing Rending Shadow lance.

Is Necromancer a starter class?

No. The Steam starters are Warrior, Ninja, and Shaman. Do not treat a test-build create as a fourth starter everywhere on this wiki.
